Several major US insurers have started to release results.
Travelers, the first off the mark, said its net investment income increased 10% pre-tax over the prior-year quarter.
Net investment income for Q1 was $930 million compared to $846 million in the same period last year.
However, as predicted, the heavy catastrophe losses weighed on results and caused issues for many in the market.
