The pricing pressures on insurers, particularly private equity (PE) ownership of insurers, are being felt acutely.
This comes as insurers also feel the consolidation pressures in the market, as well as having to spend on Artificial Intelligence investment.
For instance, this year saw some of the worst 1.1 renewal rates among other underwriting pricing pressures. Prices across most major lines returned to levels last seen around four years ago, albeit with comparatively higher attachments and tighter terms.
