The Italian insurance market has had a bump up despite mixed economic signals buffeting the country.
AM Best has revised its outlook on the Italian life insurance segment to ‘Stable’ from ‘Negative’.
The revision of the outlook to Stable primarily reflects the improvement in lapses and AM Best's expectations that companies can continue to adjust to keep positive net inflows.
The different ratings continued a trend, seen last year, though improvements in the market have accelerated. Much of this would have been recorded before the conflict in the Middle East began at the end of February.
Meanwhile, the ratings agency is also maintaining its ‘Stable’ outlook on Italy’s non-life insurance segment.
