Asset-backed finance (ABF) and rated notes have become increasingly prominent in US insurance portfolios, offering higher spreads, diversification and potential capital efficiency. Those benefits, however, come with added complexity and lower liquidity, making careful assessment of collateral, structure and balance-sheet fit essential.
