Hannah Maidment: To begin, could you please explain your role and where it sits in the investment world?

Michela Bariletti: I'm the Head of Global Investment Research and Chief Credit Officer of Phoenix Group. Phoenix is one of the UK's leading retirement savings solutions and income businesses. We have over £290 billion of assets under administration on behalf of about 12 million customers.

I lead a team that provides credit, macro, and sustainability analysis, and research to support all asset strategies pursued by Phoenix, encompassing public and private markets. Most of our credit risk sits on our shareholder asset book; assets that back our annuity liabilities, which are defined benefit pension schemes. This book is Solvency II and matching adjustment driven.
